About Us

It’s hard to imagine it now, but at one point I had no idea where food actually came from besides the grocery store. Farmers markets weren’t even really that popular 10-15 years ago where I lived. So the farming I grew up around was more commercialized. My first house came with large flower beds, but I decided to give gardening a try and start a small garden with the limited space in my backyard. I was so impressed with myself when I grew my own tomatoes and kohlrabi that, thats when everything clicked and I knew I wanted to live back in the country. Until that was an option I started frequenting the West Allis Farmers Market to support local. Farmers Markets really started to gain traction and it was fun to visit all the different ones.

Terry grew up on a farm, and his whole family participates in farming in some capacity from crops to cattle and at one time pigs. He never really left the farming world. How we met was actually quite random given I am from SE Wisconsin and he has lived here in SE Minnesota the majority of his life.

Fast-forward to today, it is kinda surreal that I am actually the one with the tent, tables and coolers at the local farmers markets. Life is full but rewarding. My day job is an IT Project Manager, however the remaining hours, many late nights and very early mornings, 7 days a week are spent raising poultry and chasing after our amazing and bright toddler, Jaclyn. My journey in learning about food has become a passion of mine, maybe even borderline obsession. Between the food science podcasts, cooking shows, and a sprinkle of Bluey, I strive to gain the knowledge to provide the best to my family and to the community. I have been blessed to be on this path with Terry’s full support, even if he groans when I bring home that box labeled “Chick Days.”

As Terry and I both work, we understand the struggles of juggling it all. We try to work smarter and not harder.

Our goal is to provide high quality, nutritious, sustainable, and convenient options to customers and community.

About the Farm

The Family has been farming the area since the 1860’s. The remaining 160 acres has been the family farm for the last 3 generations. It was an active farm with dairy cows, cattle, and other livestock. Over the last 25 years the land has been used for crops and hunting. Recently we started bringing the livestock back, and bringing life back into the land. We only hope to expand to a second farm in the future here in the Driftless Region.
